Hello Thomas,

Please send your name and email address to budsup@microsoft.com and we can look into what's happening with your buddy. If your buddy is no longer available to support you, we can search for a new buddy for you.

Also, we recommend two-way correspondence with your buddy even when you don't have specific questions, so please feel free to contact him/her again.

I am having trouble loging in. I recieved my welcome email about 2 weeks ago,

with my loge in information. The email said that my membership was already

activated and that I would be kept on the program for 6 months. I logged in

succesfully the first time right after I recieved the welcome email, and haven't

been able to loge in since. What should I do?

Once you submit your Request a Buddy profile, no further login is necessary. As soon as you're matched and your new buddy send you a welcome email, you just need to touch base with them regularly via email.

Per our records, you were matched on Saturday, December 31st so you should receive a welcome email this week. You can check out the Program Guidelines to find out more about the program and what to expect from it on http://msdn.com/isv/isvbuddy.

My buddy set up a phone call time. But never called. Never heard from again. I am not blaming the buddy; he is too busy. But why have people sign up who have no time?

Greetings,

3 months and I'm still waiting.

I?? a fool, I still look for an email everyday, as I love the idea and can use the help.

Really I trusted MS to do what they said they would and I still want to.

Hello Frank,
If the situation with your MS Buddy has not improved please do let us know and we'll try to find you a new buddy.

Things change so quickly around here that sometimes employees who have the time to commit to a buddy when they signed up suddenly get overloaded or change jobs. Unfortunately, they sometimes forget to tell us so that we can replace them with another employee.

Anyway, we do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Feel free to send us an update email at budsup@microsoft.com as to if your buddy is back on track or not.

Warm regards,
-brenda (ISV Buddy Team)

Hi !

I'm quite a novice programmer and my experience with my buddy is such:

He is very responsive - it generally takes 1-2 days to get a reply. In most cases replies are helpful.

Buddy is especially helpful in the issues concerning betas of VS 2005 / SQL 2005 cause documentation is not complete and there are a lot of bugs.

Almost no problems - just issues. E.g. once buddy replied that he has no SQL Server installed )

Thanks very much to my buddy and the program in general.

Hello All, especially Brenda!

I am really glad to see that Microsoft have that much interest atleast to know about the experience of us with the ISV Buddy Program.

I thank Microsoft for that and Brenda, for starting the thread!

I have been waiting approximately for 3+ months. I have received nothing from ISV Buddy Program. It seems no one wants to be my Buddy here in Microsoft.

So, my experience is *NOT* good at all.

Tanzim Saqib

"Congratulations! You have successfully registered for Microsoft ISV Buddy!

We are happy to have you as a member of the program. We look forward to creating an outstanding partner experience for you. Unless your new buddy is out of the office for some reason, you can expect to receive a welcome email from your buddy within one to two weeks."

It was a lie in my case.

So, out of frustration, I have requested new buddy named, Matt Hawley who's role is Development and lives in United States. Is he going to response me?

Thanks.

Tanzim Saqib

Hello Tanzim,

Sorry to hear that you're experience with the program has not been positive, yet.

You were matched with your new buddy on November 12 (Saturday) and he's already sent you a personal welcome email to kick off your buddy relationship!

Thank you for letting us know about this issue. We will address this problem with the employee that you were previously matched with.

My buddy is terrific!

I'd met him before on a different program Microsoft were running and he actually got intouch and asked if he could be my buddy.  He mails me regularly to see if I need help with anything and always comes back as fast as possible.  He's really supportive and goes to a great deal of trouble to find information I need.  He's the best!

  Hi Brenda,

I recieved your email, thanks for your responce. I am especially interested in

learning more about microsoft office excell 2003, as I am a writer and use

the documents and clip art parts a lot. There is a lot of features in microsoft

office that I don't know how to use. And, that little paperclip guy ( office

assistant ), as cute as he may be, isn't much help sometimes, because

when I ask ( type ) him a question, he returns 20 possible answers to my one

question. Sometimes, I am not sure which one is the correct answer. I love

microsoft and their products, but, the ones I use most is office and music.

I always listen to wmplayer while I work in office. So, anyway, these are the

areas that I want my buddy to help me with. And Brenda, you are doing a

great job with this buddie program, and microsoft, in my opinion, does

great on everything.

I would like to know how long does the process take to get an ISV Buddy. I signed up a little over a week ago and haven't heard anything.

What is the typical time frame? I'm very excited about doing this and would like to get started ASAP.

Thank You,

Hi,

It all depends on availability and flexibility. There has to be an available employee in the program with at least one item from each category on their profile that matches yours. Sometimes a match is immediate and sometimes it can take a month or more.

If you want to contact me at budsup@microsoft.com I'll look over your profile and try to find you a match manually.
