BSC manager - Error connecting to server

I've installed BSC manager 2005 following these steps:

1. Created a Virtual PC with 512 MB RAM

2. Installed Windows Server 2003 entreprise edition

3. Installed Windows Server 2003 SP1

4. Installed Sharepoint Services 2003

5. Installed Sharepoint Services 2003 SP2

6. Created a site and extended (Port: 46786)

7. Installed SQL 2005 developer edition

8. Configured SPS to use SQL instance

9. Installed BSC manager (server and builder)

When i start the BSC builder and try do access the server (http://localhost:46786) I get the following error message "The conection to the server failed. Verify that the connection information is correct".

Can you help me ? What is this server ? Is it the SQL server created by the BSC instalation ? I believe that this is a problem with permissions, but where ? IIS ? , SQL ?

Thanks in advance

Miguel

Per the support engineer:

Let?? talk about following issue. First of all, please let our buddy understand that he is trying to troubleshoot on a VPC. We will try our best on it, but we can not guarantee everything works just the same on VPC than on a normal PC.

Thanks for your reply.

I've reinstalled everything from scrath and now it seems to be working fine.

Hi,

I have a similar problem and my connection strings are all like u mentioned above. And i also tested my ODBC connection with native client provider with both database 1) Scorecardserver 2) Wss_Content and both tests are successfull.

Now i am doing this one in a VM with win2003R2/SQL2005/SPS2007 installed. All are running ok like my top site http://<servername>:48676. My installation of BSM Server 2005 and Builder 2005 are also ok.

I have SPS2007 (Beta) installed in my VM and in IIS there is no web.config file under c:\inetpub\wwwroot. SPS 2007 is created that one under his own directory. And i have checked there also. The BPM connection string is same as yours.

So what to do next to resolve this problem.

with regards
