How to create dependency among work items???

The scenario is something like this:

Lets assume I have this work item "Task" and then another work item "Review". Only when I finish this Review workitem, only then I should be able to close the other dependent workitem Task.

I know that in v1 of TFS, this is not possible. In case anybody out their has an alternate solution or workaround, thanks in advance.

Hi,

As a workaround, you can use a custom control in your WIT Form to specify a dependency between two Work Item.

So, this is just a workaround because this solution put the validation responsability on the client side wich is not TFS envision.

I also want to add that your scenario is not, from my point of view, really agile. You should not block any operation by the WIT. Trust your collaborators!!!

I am trying a workaround for depent work item. I want to write code which will execute when a workitem is saved. I am not able to get the save event handler. can anybody help me.

You should use a subscription to the "WorkItemChanged" event (you can filter this event with the work item type or the project name ...) and specify a Web Service to perform each linked operations.
