Unable to use SourceSafe & TFS on the same machine with MSSCC...

Background:

We have multiple product lines (solutions) that are currently using Visual Studio 2003 and SourceSafe 2005. The plan is for us to migrate all SourceSafe databases into TFS projects and then upgrade to Visual Studio 2005.

During the migration process, we will have some solutions in TFS and some in SourceSafe; all in active development using VS 2003.

Problem:

We need the ability to switch between SourceSafe and TFS on a per solution basis in VS2003. The MSSCCI provider seems to be unable to let VS 2003 go back to SourceSafe once it is installed and configured to use a TFS server. At least, I am unable to figure out how this is done.

Is there a way to do this or must one uninstall and re-install the provider to switch?

The architecture seems to imply that I could choose my provider on a per solution basis.

Any and all comments will be appreciated.

Hello,

please look at my blog post http://blogs.msdn.com/michalma/archive/2006/03/01/541255.aspx

Hopes this helps. Just keep in mind - you shouldn't be opening solution which is bounded to one SCC when different Msscci provider is selected

Hi,

try to use SCPSelector. It offers the choice between your Source conexion.

Thanks
