am I right in my understanding, that code churn is calculated over all non binary files? That means all xml files (e.g. documentation, config files, etc.), database drops, ascii documents and so on?

Or is there a way to specify which file types a project would like to see in code churn? Or could it be specified by paths in source control?

Could please someone clarify how code churn really works? Would be very helpful ...

Hi Markus,

Yes your understanding is correct: any file not considered "binary" by the Version Control system will have churn calculated.

There isnt any more granular way to specify which files/file paths to exclude from the code churn calculation, short of registering a file as "binary" in the VC system. This is something we'll consider in future releases.
