I'm trying to add web parts from the project gallery, just the ones installed by default, but they give this error every time:

An unexpected error has occurred.

Unfortunately, this is a problem with site templates in Sharepoint. Also unlucky, the WSS team was unable to release a fix before we cut our RTM build. The word is that there is a hotfix coming down the pipeline. However, there are a couple of work-arounds. The long-er term solution requires you to configure WSS to use .NET 1.1, instead of 2.0. Bill Essary MSFT I just applied this patch after obtaining it from Microsoft support, but the problem persists for all new project site and current project sites.
