Hi,

I am trying to give myself permission to be able to create Team Project. I follow this guide, http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms253091.aspx for assignment permission for the reporting services. However, when I try to create a project, I received the following errors:

TF30171: The Microsoft.ProjectCreationWizard.Reporting plug-in used to create the new team project could not be initialized and returned the following error: TF30222: The New Team Project Wizard could not find the data source TfsOlapReportDS on the SQL Server Reporting Services server vstsfs.

I was able to overcome this error by assigning myself the "Content Manager" role for theTfsOlapReportDS and TfsReportDS report. However, this permission was not written in the guide.

So is this a error in the above guide or am I missing something else?

Unsure if this is still relevant for you. But I experienced a similar issue. In SRS, both the TFSOlapReportDS and TfsReportDS reports by default inherit security and permissions from the Home parent items. If you at one point in time played with the Security settings for either of these and broke it from inheritance, the default MSDN documented security setup for SRS won't work.

You can either do what you mention above and manually set yourself as Content Manager for both of these reports or, easier, go into each of the reports, click on Security and just "Revert to Parent Security".
