I posted this sometime back. See if this will help you out.

Just to make sure it's clear, as Paul's blog post mentions, the install guide instructs you to run the SQL Surface Configuration tool to enable listening on TCP/IP. If you haven't done that (and restarted SQL Server! :) then that is the cause of this error.

hi paul

i had gone through this link but i want to know which are the tcp/ip settings to be done. Which tcp port shoule be entered.

You will need to access the Surface Area Configuration tool Programs>Microsoft SQL Server>Configuration Tools>Surface Area Configuration

When the dialog opens, select the Services and Connections option

When the dialog opens, select the Remote Connections under Database Engine in the treeview on the left side.

Select he Local and Remote Connections option and the Using TCP/IP only option.

Click Apply then OK.

Restart the SQL Server service and follow the rest of the directions in the post link provided earlier.

 Hello Friends

I am trying to install Team Foundation Server. But the problem is that at the end of

installation i am getting the following error:

Error 28100.Error loading Event web service

Could anyone tell me what may be the possible reason and how to solve this error. As i am supposed to install TFS as soon as possible.

There are a few posts out there on this topic. These may be helpful.

This I found on Rob Carons blog from some time ago.

In a single-server deployment, you don't have the option of using Active Directory domain user accounts or local user accounts. You should use domain user accounts. If you try to use local users accounts on a computer that is joined to a domain, Team Foundation Server setup will probably fail with an error 28100, Error loading Event web service.

Also, if that doesn't help, please provide more information - single server / dual server, setup logs, etc.
