Basic effect is that the firewall is off.  For security reasons, we recommend not turning off the firewall.  If turning it off works for you, then turning it on will probably stop it from working.  You will need to open the ports that will allow the information to go through the firewall.

hi,

i actually wanted to ask you something abt windows firewall.

my firewall isn't working......if i try to open firewall thru control panel, it says couldn't open it due to unidentified problems. and if i go thru windows security center and i click on recommendations under Firewall, a dialog box shows up. I click on "Enable now" and then it says it can't turn it on.....would you know how to turn it on........and btw this is not windows live one care...its just the regular firewall in XP home edition service pack 2.....

Simply 1st Shutdown Ur Win Srvr 2k3

2nd Disconnect any network cable or Modem cable

3rd Turn On Win Srvr 2k3 ( without Net )

4th Turn On firewall
