Need for TFS?

HI

I'm a newbie to TFS. My question is why do I need TFS, can I just be good with VS 2005 Developer edition (my main concern is with code anlaysis and Unit testing)?

I have VSS for change/config management.

TestDirectory for defect tracking and CC.net for build automation.

So any reason for TFS?

The best feature of TFS is integration. Developers can manipulate source control, work items, builds, etc. without leaving Visual Studio. Since all these artifacts are stored in the same database, we can provide easy links between them as well as rich reports that tie them together into a cohesive "state of the project." While individual products like the ones you mentioned do help make programmers more productive, too often things like complexity and geography limit the scope of their improvements to just a small team of engineers. With TFS we want to make the entire software process more manageable and predictable.

Thanks for that information, currently VS IDE does integrate with VSS and our QA team uses TestDirectory. I'm trying to see the need to push forth for TFS.

Can the code analysis that I'm able to do with VS 2005 developer edition be import so its accessible by the entire team? same for unit testing results?
