Accessing the TFS through a proxy

hi,

i am currently trying to access my TFS via a TFS proxy. while the direct access t the server works fine, the connection to the proxy fails every time. the error mesage is:

The source control proxy 'dephbrsaa1msme2' is not responding, so the request will be sent to the main server. Please verify your settings.
Additional information:
TF30063: You are not authorized to access Microsoft-IIS/6.0.

google and the msdn board do not really cover this subject, but i must admit that i am rather new to the subject. the iis seems to work, and i have absolutley no idea grant authorization to my user. i would apreaciate any help/suggestion.

You'll need to make sure that the service account used for the proxy service has access rights to the server. This should be covered in the following: Latest Administration Guide | Latest Installation Guide.

it seems that this has solved the issue. the error message does not appear anymore. however, this generates a follow up question: How do I verify that the proxy does cache the files? The "VersionControlProxy\Data" folder is empty. I also tried to monitor the proxy via the performance monitor, but i can not add the counters. they are there, but the "add" button is disabled.

I´m sorry to bother you wit such "noob-ish" questions. I tried to follow the instructions as good as possible.
