User name/Alias change causing VSTS Source control access problem...

Recently our company decided to change user name/alias in Active directory. Since my user name has changed I was unable to connect to VSTS source control.

Error message is: "The workspace <my machinename>;<domainname/my new alias> already exist on computer <my machinename>

 

Any suggestions to fix the issue?

You need to run tf workspaces /s:<server> /updateusername:<oldusername>
