Systems Designer does not update web.config

AD successfully updates the Impersonate setting in web.config, whereas Systems Designer does not.  Am I missing something?

I can override the Impersonate setting, whereas I set the password and UserName as not-overridable.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Jean-Pierre,

If I'm understanding you correctly then this is not limited to the setting that you mention.

For example, if I set authentication mode to "Forms" in Application Designer the config file for the implemented app will show that setting as "Forms", even if I include that app in a System and override the setting to "Windows" in System Designer. (note that if I change the setting to "Windows" back in App Designer then the config file will update accordingly).

If you go on to create a Logical Datacenter, deploy your system to one of the LDD servers using Deployment Designer, then generate a Deployment Report you will see the overridden setting in the section of the report relating to your System. In other words, if you override app-level "Forms" authentication to system-level "Windows" authentication the deployment report will show "Windows" authentication.

Hi Jean-Pierre,

In Application Designer, only one project is generated for each implemented application definition in the solution; therefore, there is only one configuration file. When you design a system in System Designer, you can include multiple uses of that definition and override settings that you designated as overridable.

After you define system deployment in Deployment Designer and generate a deployment report, the report contains the overidden settings. When you prepare deploy that system, you will need to locate the project files for the application definition and copy/configure those project files for each additional use of that definition. You can then use the deployment report to configure the settings for those uses.

We will be releasing an update to the documentation that describes how to deploy your applications using the deployment report.
