WinFx and Application Designer

I have just installed the WinFx Feburuary CTP I would like to add a Winfx Application to my application Diagram. Can I do this? If so how?

Thanks,

Erik

Hi Erik,

Unfortunately we don't support WinFx applications on the current version of the Application Designer. We will be adding support in a future release however.

I'd like to clarify my earlier post. While we don't currently support code generation or reverse engineering of WinFx applications on the Application Designer, it would be possible to use the SDM SDK to create a WinFx application type that could be shown on the AD. You can find information about the SDM SDK here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/teamsystem/architect/sdm/default.aspx.

My apologies for any confusion.

Ian,

Thanks for the reply. I can get by without adding my WinFx app to the application diagram for now. My real problem is that the IDE crashes when I have a solution with an application diagram it.

If I have a solution with an application Diagram in it and I try to add a WinFx app to it it crashes the IDE.

Thanks,

Erik

Ian,

One more question. Should I be posting my issues with the product on the News Groups or the Forums? I have posted a couple issues like this one to both.

Thanks,

Erik

This is the best place to post questions about the product as a number of people on the team monitor it and respond to feedback or issues. If you could log a bug at http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/productfeedback/default.aspx for the crash you described we will look into it for the next release.

Thanks for raising the issue.
