Can not uninstall SDM model

Hi,

I have a problem that is similar to this one:

http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=231282&SiteID=1

However I did not see if the solution is available. Basically if I remove registry entries that does not remove toolbox items.

There is also another issue.. Looks like if applications/endpoints with the same names were installed before, toolbox is still trying to use old definitions even after I update registry entries/sdm files (remove old paths, add new for modified SDM ). However designer can not find abstract definitions for old items and there is a problem.

One more scenario.. I remove my definitions, use "devenv /resetuserdata", reinstall my SDM files however they do not appear on the toolbox. "reset toolbox" command does not help.

Well, the solution that works for me is to copy "tbd" (is it toolbox cache?) files from a working machine. However I am wondering if there is a guaranteed way to install/uninstall SDM entities so that I can prepare a stable msi package?

I am using RTM build.

Thanks,

Alex

And here is one more observation.. I've done another installation of Visual Studio and after running devenv with "/resetuserdata", toolbox became totally empy(I mean SDM toolbox. All other items like buttons, datasets etc are still available)

Finally I have figured out what was the problem.. Occasionally we have set empty values for the "default" registry entry of the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0\EnterpriseTools\DesignerPrototypeFolders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0\EnterpriseTools\Sdm\InitializationFiles

Normally "default" should be set to "value not set" (i.e., it should be deleted)

However in case empty value is set, all those special effects appear. So everything is ok now.. I'm just wondering if this behavior is expected?
