This message seems to indicate a problem with accessing active directory.

Exception Message: TF50643: Team Foundation Server was unable to retrieve identity information from Active Directory for AAC\a_User because the Team Foundation Server application pool identity is not authorized to access this information, or is a local user account. To access this information, the Team Foundation Server application pool identity must be an Active Directory user account. (type ActiveDirectoryAccessException)

Did the password on the TFS app tier service account expire?

Hmm are you using the correct version of Team Explorer for your version of Team Foundation Server? it seems like it's trying to make a invalid request and maybe it's casued becouse of different versions
