June 2006 CTP and Hands On Lab

Just wondering if the Hand On Lab Tutorial still works the same with the June 2006 code drop.

I can get the Hand On Lab 2005 solution to compile. And in the View...Other Windows menu item I can open the Guidance Navigator Window. But having trouble trying to follow Exercise 1.

The doc in part reads:

3. Right-click on the solution, and click the Register Guidance Package menu item.
4. Open a new instance of Visual Studio.
5. Select File | New Project menu item. In the following dialog expand the Guidance Packages tree node in the Project types pane.
6. Select the Data Solution Package node.

In Step 3, the "Register Guidance Package" option does not appear.
and
In Step 6, the "Data Solution Package" node does not appear, only the "Guidance Package Development" node.

Is there something I'm missing?

Running:
Microsoft Visual Studio Pro 2005 Version 8.0.50727.42 (RTM.050727-4200)
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.50727
Windows Server 20003 SP1

Thanks for any direction,
Kevin

OK, found a work-around:

1) Open the Guidance Package Manager from the Tools menu.
2) Click the "Enable/Disable Packages" button
3) Select the CheckBox beside the "Guidance Package Development" guidance package, and click "OK" button
4) Now there are three recipes listed in the Guidance Package Manager. Select "Register Guidance Package", and click the "Execute" button.
5) In the dialog box that appears select the "HoLPackage" element (the only one highlighted), and click the "Accept" button.
6) Status bar reads "Registration of Package in process..." After a minute or so, status bar reads "Registration of Package succeeded"

Only *after* doing this do the menu items "Register Guidance Package", "Unregister Guidance Package" and "Quick Register" appear in the right mouse click menu. And they are in the menu of the *package*, not the solution.

Now in Step 6 when I open the second Visual Studio instance, the "Data Solution Package" appears.

Not quite as simple as the Tutorial makes it out to be, but progress at least.

Now on to page 4...
