Hi all,

I need help uninstalling vb 2005 express edition. When I do it manually I get such an error:

"Setup is unable to determine a valid ordering for the installation. See the error log for further details."

I was trying to repair it from CD but without results.

and I found this post:

and I used this application msiinv.exe to find the product code to be able to uninstall this vb like that:

msiexec /x {product code}

but unfortunatelly there isn't this program on list generated by this program.

Please help.

Are you still having trouble uninstalling?

Did you write the command like this

When I run the msiexec /x {prod code} for SQL Server Express Beta 2 and SQL Server Express Tools Beta 2 the uninstaller just terminates and the product is not removed.

More options?

Yes, I've tried that link and the FAQ link with all tools and none work. When I run msiinv I see that I have listed as installed both SQL Server Express Beta 2 and SQL Server Express Tools Beta 2, BUT none of these are on my system. I've uninstalled, deleted the files, deleted the registry keys, whiped everything off the system except for these msi entries which I can't get rid of and which causes the install of MSSQL to believe there is still beta 2 stuff left and terminate.

Is there some way to just remove these msi entries?

I found this blog post that has a touble shooting guide to uninstalling the VS Products, have a look at some of the ideas it puts forward and try them.

I found a msizap-tool that made the final clean-up needed.

If you have the same problem try this also...
