I used to have SQL2000 installed while using VBNet 2003, worked a treat, but decided to uninstall and move up to 2005 express. Try as I might I cannot get SQL Express to install. Framework, VB Express and C# all installed OK but SQL hangs up on "detecting inatlled IIS" even though it is not installed. I have installed IIS and it still hangs up at the same place and I cant "Cancel" the process either. I have to kill it with task manager. The only pre check issues that occur are that IIS is not installed and my laptop does not meet the minimum. The processor is 500Mhz, but I wouldnt have expected that to kill the process. I have looked at the logs and the errors I find indicate a missing SQLNCLI.MSI, a missing header in SQL include directory, the entire file structure in this area doesnt seem to exist.

A bit lost now. Any suggestions
